Talk to a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist

How do I know if seeing a Speech-Language Pathologist could benefit my child?

Communication includes so much more than just talking — it’s how we connect, understand, and express ourselves.

If your child is experiencing difficulty with any of the following, seeing a licensed speech-language pathologist may help support their development.

  • Understanding directions or questions
  • Effectively expressing their thoughts
  • Has speech that is difficult to understand for unfamiliar listeners
  • Recalling information
  • Has a limited vocabulary for their age

Every child develops at their own pace, and some delays may resolve naturally,  but if you're unsure, it never hurts to ask questions or seek an evaluation. Early support can make a lasting difference.

Q: Is teletherapy effective?

Yes — for many clients, teletherapy has been shown to be just as effective as in-person sessions. With the right tools and caregiver support, children can make excellent progress in a virtual setting. Teletherapy is evidence-based and used widely to deliver high-quality speech and language services.

However, it’s important to note that teletherapy may not be the best fit for every child. Factors such as age, attention span, level of support at home, or the complexity of the child’s needs can influence how successful virtual sessions may be. During the intake process, we’ll work with you to determine whether teletherapy is an appropriate and effective option for your child.
